Catalunya GP, the next MotoGP Destination

The Catalonia Gran Prix will take place in the Circuit de Catalunya (Montmeló, Barcelona) this weekend. This GP will be the 5th of the year and the 19th since the circuit held the first in 1992.

A lot of fans from different countries will be in the circuit this Sunday to support the pilots. This year’s race should be very exciting, as every year, but there is still an important doubt about one of the drivers. The accident that Dani Pedrosa had in the last GP in France could not allow him to race in Catalonia. This morning he said that he doesn’t know yet if he will race. We will have to wait 2 or 3 more days to know the decision.

The other Spanish drivers that will race this weekend are Hèctor Barberà, Álvaro Bautista, Toni Elias and the leader of the classification, Jorge Lorenzo. He wants to win the race in Barcelona and continue leading the table. The fight between Lorenzo and Pedrosa will be cool this year, because the two pilots are fighting this season. Their war is not only on the road. Both pilots are very popular in Spain and they have a lot of fans coming to watch their triumph. We will also see this Sunday if the Barça fan Lorenzo celebrates the Champions League title won by FC Barcelona last Saturday.

Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, will have to face  also Casey Stoner, Dovizioso and “The Doctor Rossi”.

El GP de Catalunya, el próximo asalto de la MotoGP

 El Gran Premio de Catalunya de MotoGP se celebrará este fin de semana en el Circuit de Catalunya de Montmeló (Barcelona). Este GP representará el quinto del mundial y será el decimonoveno desde que se disputó el primero en el circuito el año 1992.

El circuito de Catalunya se llenará este fin de semana de aficionados de todos los colores y países para vivir el Gran Premio en directo. La carrera de este año se prevé, como siempre, muy emocionante, pero esta vez también presenta alguna duda importante. La caída de Dani Pedrosa en el Gran Premio de Francia deja por el momento en el aire su presencia en la carrera. Sin ir más lejos, el piloto catalán ha declarado hoy mismo que no sabe si podrá competir. Habrá ahora que esperar a ver si finalmente se recupera, ya que son muchos los aficionados del piloto que cada año van a verlo al circuito de Catalunya.

A parte del de Castellar del Vallès, hay otros pilotos españoles de primer nivel que correrán el próximo domingo en el circuito: Hèctor Barberà, Álvaro Bautista, Toni Elias y el líder del mundial Jorge Lorenzo, que espera poder llevarse la victoria otra vez más y seguir en el primer puesto. La lucha entre Lorenzo y Pedrosa en este mundial será posiblemente la más reñida de los últimos años. Los dos pilotos, de los que todos sabemos que no son precisamente amigos, llevan, aunque quiera parecer que no, un mano a mano tanto dentro de la pista como fuera, ya que los dos son los que tienen más seguidores en el país. Veremos también si el piloto mallorquín, declarado barcelonista, quiere meterse (otra vez) a la afición catalana en el bolsillo y celebra de alguna manera el título de Champions conseguido por el equipo catalán el sábado pasado.

Tanto Lorenzo como Pedrosa, si es que finalmente compite, se tendrán que ver las caras con Stoner, que está en la segunda posición de la clasificación, entre el mallorquín y el catalán; y también con Dovizioso y el gran Rossi, que están después de Pedrosa en la tabla.

How to get to the Camp Nou?

The Camp Nou is the stadium of FC Barcelona since 1957. It was built in the middle of the past century because the old stadium, Les Corts, was too small and the club needed more seats. Nowadays the Camp Nou is one of the most important around the world and it’s also which is capable of more viewers in Europe (nearly 100,000). The stadium is on Aristides Maillol avenue, which is on Les Corts, Barcelona.

Is it difficult to get to the Camp Nou stadium from the rest of Barcelona? Not at all! It is well connected with the rest of the city by metro, bus and tram. Let us show you how to get to the Barça’s stadium.

-          METRO

Line 5 (the blue line): ‘Badal’ and ‘Collblanc’ stations. This line runs through various important places in the city such as Sagrada Família or Sants station.

Line 3 (the green line): ‘Maria Cristina’, ‘Palau Reial’ or ‘Zona Universitària’ stations. This line also runs through various important places in the city such as Plaça Catalunya or Plaça Espanya.

Both lines 5 and 3 coincide in some stations with other metro lines.

-          BUS

There are 27 stations around the Camp Nou and 15 different buses that go there.

Lines: 7, 15, 43, 54, 56 67, 68, 74, 75, 158, L12, L50, L60 and L62

-          TRAM

Lines: T1, T2 and T3

Stations: ‘Zona Universitària’, ‘Maria Cristina’, ‘Pius XII’, ‘Palau Reial’, ‘Avinguda de Xile’ and ‘Sant Ramon’.

¿Cómo llegar al Camp Nou?

El Camp Nou es “la casa” del Barça desde 1957. El estadio barcelonista fue construido a mediados del siglo pasado para suplir al mítico campo de “Les Corts”, que se había quedado pequeño. El Camp Nou es hoy uno de los estadios más conocidos del mundo y el que tiene capacidad para más espectadores de Europa (casi 100.000). Está situado en la avenida Aristides Maillol, en el barrio de Les Corts, en Barcelona.

¿Es difícil llegar al Camp Nou desde el resto de Barcelona? ¡Para nada!  El estadio está bien conectado con el resto de la ciudad a través de metro, autobús y tranvía. Aquí te damos algunos consejos sobre cómo llegar al estadio del Barça:

-          METRO

Línea 5 (la línea azul): estaciones ‘Badal’ y ‘Collblanc’. Esta línea tiene parada en lugares importantes de la ciudad como la Sagrada Família o la estación de Sants.

Línea 3 (la línea verde): estaciones ‘Maria Cristina’, ‘Palau Reial’ y ‘Zona Universitària’. Esta línea tiene parada en lugares relevantes de la ciudad como Plaza Catalunya o Plaza España.

Las líneas 5 y 3 coinciden en algunas estaciones con otras líneas de metro a las que se puede hacer transbordo fácilmente.

-          BUS

Hay 27 estaciones alrededor del Camp Nou y 15 autobuses que llegan al estadio.

Enjoy the Aragon MotoGP in one of the best circuits of the championship!

The Aragon Gran Prix will be held on Sunday 18th September. The MotorLand circuit of Alcañiz will host the race for the second year and this GP will be the 14th of the championship and the last in Europa before the Valencia GP, which will close the season.

The new MotorLand circuit of Alcañiz was opened last year. It won the award for the best Grand Prix of the year by IRTA and all the drivers liked it. The circuit is 5,077 m. of length and it has 17 turns. Despite MotorLand is very new, Alcañiz hosted motor competitions for many years, until 2003, in an urban circuit.

As mentioned, the Aragon GP will be one of the last of the championship, so it will be also an important race for the battle for the title. The Spanish Jorge Lorenzo is leading the classification. Casey Stoner is in the second position and then there is Dani Pedrosa. However, this driver had an accident in the French Grand Prix and he will not be able to be at least in the next GP in Catalonia. After Pedrosa there are Dovizioso and Rossi, but they are close to the top three drivers. There are a lot of GPs before the Aragon Gran Prix, so nothing is decided yet.
