The last victory didn’t have a good flavour for FC Barcelona. The Catalans defeated Celta by 3-0 at the Camp Nou but they lost their keeper Victor Valdes for 6 months. Unfortunately, Valdes’ injury was the news of the match.
It was the minute 21 of match when Valdes threw to the floor after kicking the ball. He was complaining so much but in spite of this many viewers didn’t think that the injury would be as hard as it is. The diagnosis has been a knee injury: he will be at least 6 mounts out of the pick.
Some months ago Valdes announced that he would leave Barcelona at the end of the season. He was supposed to join Monaco. He was offered a lot of millions to move there. However, this injury can break also this plan, because, apart from Valdes’ intention of moving abroad, he will not be able to achieve his other goals: ending this season with Barça and, especially, playing the World Cup with the Spanish National Team.
Valdes is not the only disadvantaged with his injury, but also Barcelona. The veteran keeper José Manuel Pinto will have to play all the remaining matches because the coach Martino has announced they will not sign any new keeper.
In conclusion, Barcelona doesn’t have another option to rely on Pinto and Valdes has to be patient until his recovery. Let’s see what will happen!
