The city of Valencia holds every summer since 2008 the European GP of Formula One at its street circuit. The Circuit Urbà de València  (Valencia Street Circuit) was finished the same year it was inaugurated and it will host at least until 2005 the European GP of F1.

Valencia Street Circuit is located in the city’s maritime zone, just beside the port. This is one of the best F1 circuits around the world: its track is 5.400 m long and incorporates 25 turns (11 right-handers and 14 left-handers). With this new and innovating features, the race organization aims to overcome the mythical Monaco GP to reach the top.

Up until now, only Brazilian and German drivers have won the four F1 races held in the European GP of Valencia. Felipe Massa won in 2008, Rubens Barrichello in 2009 and the current F1 king Sebastian Vettel in the last two competitions (2010 and 2011). Vettel also achieved the lap record with a spectacular time (1:36.975) in the last Gran Prix.

What all Spanish fans want now is to see Fernando Alonso or the youth Jaime Alguersuari at the top of the podium!
