Barça vs Milan… The key match for Vilanova’s team

It is the most crucial moment of the season for Barça. Next Tuesday the Camp Nou will receive AC Milan in the second-leg of the last 16 round of the Champions League.

The day we knew that the two teams would face each other in this round almost everybody though that Barça were the favourite to win. Vilanova’s team was dominating in La Liga –also now- and had played great matches in the Champions League. However, Milan were not in the same situation so it is why people didn’t doubt that Barcelona would win.

Nevertheless, we always say that in Football nothing is predictable and it is an example. Milan defeated the ‘blaugranas’ by 2-0 in the first-leg of the round at San Siro. 2-0. So Barça need to score also 2 goals in the second-leg in order to reach the quarter-finals. And try not to be scored by Milan. It will be difficult for the Catalans, but also possible.

Barça-Milan will be a hard, difficult and great match. Both teams are experts in the Champions League so the two know that matches are not won until the clash ends.

In the case of Barça, the Catalans have lost two times against their worst rival, Real Madrid, in just one week. One of these defeats put them out of the Spanish Cup… So if they don’t reach the Champions League quarter-finals the club will be in a very complicated situation. Let’s see how the do to avoid it.

The next special match to be played at the Camp Nou is the FC Barcelona – AC Milan on the 12nd of March. The fight between the two teams to reach the top of Europe will has already started at San Siro two weeks before, but the second-leg at the Camp Nou will be the most determining clash.

The matches between Barcelona and Milan have become habitual in the European Cup in the last few years. In fact, the two teams faced each other in the last season. Guardiola’s Barça won and reached the semi finals, in which they lost against Chelsea.

Last year the favourite team to reach the quarterfinals was Barça, and this season it hasn’t changed. Tito Vilanova’s Barcelona are La Liga’s leader while Milan are the 7th in Calcio, so nowadays the Rossoneros are not at the same ‘level’ as the Cules.

But us you know, the Champions League is the most special tournament and it doesn’t matter what happens in the other competitions. In the European Cup everything is different, so any team can win… And Milan and Barça will fight to achieve it.

The 12nd of March the Camp Nou will hold an incredible match. See it live and enjoy football as you wish: Book your Barça – Milan tickets!

Barca vs Milan, a sure spectacle in the first game of Champions

There is no doubt that this year’s group H of the first round of the Champions League is the group whose end results seem to be sealed earliest. There are fours teams: two of the big teams, or rather, very big, Barça and Milan, and two ‘little’ teams, Bate Borisov and Viktoria Plzen. However, as we all know this is the Champions League and nothing is decided until the last minute of the last two matches of the round. And should one of the ‘big teams’ be knocked out, while a ‘small team’ remains in for the next round, it certainly wouldn’t be the first nor the last time. In fact, Barca and Milan have already been victims of this phenomenon…

In any case, all four teams will fight for a place in the next round, and each will play three matches at home and three at the stadiums of theirs rivals. The current champion, Barça of Pep Guardiola and Messi, will start the round at home, and will play against the other giant, Milan of Allegri and Ibrahimovic. The three points that will be at stake in this match are more important than we can imagine. Barça and Milan have an advantage in fighting against Bate and Viktoria: the distance between the top two teams and second two is very big, and the possibilities of winning against these two lower teams are even greater. So, the most important points will be fought for in the matches between Milan and Barça. The team that wins one of the two matches will have more chance of securing their ticket to the next round sooner and, even better, to the first place of the group. And even more so if one of the two teams wins both of the matches in which they face each other.

Barça, the reigning champion of the competition, is also the top seed this year to go through to the next round and win the continental trophy once more. The talent of the coach Pep Guardiola, the power of his players (a lot of them trained at Barça) and the 3-4-3 shape that Pep has recovered makes it clear that FC Barcelona is the strongest team in Europe, and is the favorite to win the Champions League again. However, they shouldn’t relax just yet, because nothing will be decided until the matches are played, and Pep’s team could have its first problems in the first match of this Champions League. The rival will be Milan; yes, Ibrahimovic’s Milan. The most expensive player of Barça (who stayed in the club so little time), comes back to the Camp Nou after having praised Barcelona and Pep Guardiola… However, Barça fans won’t forget his and his agent’s comments which criticized Pep (they called him a ‘philosopher’)… We can see even now, before the match, that this will be an interesting match to say the least.

Everything will be decided on the 13th of September in the Nou Camp in a match that deserves to be experienced live. Purchase your Barça v Milan tickets now!
