December 6th will be one of the most important days in the Champions League. The date is decided, but what we don’t know yet are the teams which will reach the first knockout round of the Champions this season. Today we’ll talk again about the current European champion, Barça, and about the last match of the first round of the competition they’ll play against Bate Borisov at the Camp Nou.

The teams which are in the Group H of the Champions are Barça, Bate Borisov, AC Milan and Viktoria Plzen. It’s inevitable to think that the favourites to reach the next round are Barça and Milan and that the other two teams will fight just to have a chance… There’s a big difference between the two favourite teams and Bate Borisov and Viktoria Plzen… However, nothing is decided yet. In fact, the classification of the group after each team has played just one match couldn’t be more even. Barça and Milan tied at the Camp Nou (2-2) and Viktoria and Bate also drew at Viktoria’s Stadium (1-2). All teams have 1 point. Let’s see if this evening the table changes.  It probably will.

After the games to be held today, three more matches will be played before the last face-off of this round on the 6^th of December. Barça will play the last match against Bate Borisov at the Camp Nou. Maybe the most optimistic people think that Barcelona will have reached the first knockout round of the competition in one of the matches before that; and maybe the most cautious think that this match against Bate will be the most crucial. However, nobody knows what will happen in the next week or in the match we’re talking about. Barça always try to play their best football in each game, and even more so at the Camp Nou in front of their fans, and Bate Borisov want to surprise the current Champions’ champion, so of course we’ll see good football. Moreover, we know that Bate is the winner of the Belarusian league for the fifth year consecutive, so it’s clear they aren’t a bad team…

El 6 de diciembre será un de los días más clave de la Champions de esta temporada. La fecha está ya inamoviblemente marcada, pero lo que no sabemos todavía es lo que pasará en los partidos que se jueguen y, por lo tanto, los equipos que definitivamente pasarán a los octavos de la Champions de este año. Hoy volveremos a hablar del actual campeón, el Barça, y de su último partido de la ronda, contra el Bate Borisov en casa.

En el Grupo H están encuadrados, a parte de Barça y Bate, AC Milán y Viktoria Plzen. El simple hecho de saber qué cuatro equipos compiten en el grupo nos lleva inevitablemente a pensar que hay dos claros favoritos, Barça y Milan, y dos otros rivales de una calidad más o menos similar pero notablemente más baja que la de los dos favoritos que competirán por intentar dar la campanada. Con una sola jornada disputada en esta primera fase de la máxima competición continental (la segunda será precisamente esta noche), de momento la cosa no podría estar más igualada. Barça y Milan empataron a 2 en el Camp Nou en el primer encuentro, y Bate y Viktoria hicieron lo mismo en casa del segundo con un gol para cada bando. Por ahora los cuatro equipos cuentan con un punto cada uno. Veremos a ver hoy si la cosa empieza a cambiar. Probablemente sí.

Después de los partidos de hoy, se jugarán tres jornadas y finalmente llegaremos al 6 de diciembre, el último y definitivo partido. El Barça jugará en el Camp Nou ante el Bate Borisov. Probablemente los más optimistas crean que ese partido será para los azulgrana un mero trámite (ya se habrán clasificado antes), y los más cautos digan que hasta el último momento no se sabe y que no hay que confiarse. Nadie sabe todavía que pasará, eso esta claro, pero también claro está que el Barça lo da todo en cada partido, y más en su campo y delante de su afición, así que siempre que hablemos de Barça, habrá juego ofensivo, gol, lucha… Y en definitiva, buen fútbol. El Bate Borisov, además, esté en la situación en la que esté por lo que a el pase a octavos se refiere, no dejará pasar la oportunidad de intentarlo en el campo del mejor equipo del mundo y jugando contra los jugadores con que lo hará. Hay que decir además que viene de ganar la liga bielorrusa por quinto año consecutivo, así que no se trata de un ‘don nadie’…
